Do you want to join the BEST group of aviation enthusiasts around?  Do you want to be up close and get a behind-the-scene look at the inner workings of what it takes to make an aviation museum thrive?

Volunteer at The Yanks Air Museum and become a vital part of making the Legends from the past, the present and the future come to life!

Some Volunteer Opportunities

  • Docent – A museum Ambassador to the general public by assisting guests with answering questions and providing assistance where needed.  Assist the museum with safety, maintenance and security during normal business hours and special events.
  • Tour Guide - Tour groups range from pre-school to seniors and an average tour could range in time from 45 minutes up to 4 hours depending on the group size and depth of tour.  If you are an aviation enthusiast and enjoy sharing your knowledge this is the perfect fit for you.
  • Gift Shop – Assist customers, stock merchandise and general cleaning 
  • Museum Maintenance - This is Chino and when the winds kick up, there is dust.  With displays, floors, aircraft and miscellaneous artifacts in and around the museum, this activity is a great opportunity for families to do together.
  • Photo/Film - Do you consider yourself an amateur photographer or videographer? The museum is growing and changing daily and there is a need to preserve the past, be in today and make sure that we document for the future.
  • On-going projects – there are always projects to be started, maintained and completedActivity supervisors
  • Classroom teachers
  • Flight simulator, engineering and instruction
  • Museum Docents (Tours)
  • Pilots, flight attendants, engineers, maintenance, computer experts, controller, etc.
  • Event volunteers: trash clean-up, security, marketing, PR

Volunteer Requirements

  • Must be 18 yrs of age or under the direct supervision of a parent
  • Museum Membership
  • Liability Waiver executed
  • Complete the Volunteer Application on-line or in person
  • After acknowledgement of Application and acceptance attend a one (1) hour Orientation and Safety meeting
