The search for parts began in 2009 for the CH-3 presidential fleet helicopter. After contacting 12 or so dealers across the United States, only a few parts had turned up but know body wanted to turn loose the parts they had.

Canvassing the local Tucson parts dealers brought us to Haveco Aviation Memorabilia who was willing to deal on a few items that we needed to secure the helicopter.

A nation-wide search began for parts still needed. After a number phone calls and recommendations from other dealers, the folks at Brown Helicopters in Pensacola, Florida really knew the parts and what we were asking for. By early 2011, following a four-month correspondence with Brown, who’s staff were pleasant and knowledgeable they were not only able to secure the parts for us, but wanted to donate the tail rotor head and tail rotor blades to Yanks. Brown even paid the freight to ship them to Chino from Florida. A nice donation!

So, the hunt continues for the remaining missing items.

During the process a longtime friend of a board member, (Rob Mignard) that flew this aircraft in Presidential service visited the Museum and was interviewed for the Library of Congress oral history project. Rob donated his Special Air Missions jacket, a patch and his flight helmet to the Museum to serve in the CH-3 display.
